CANADIAN ISD PREFERS HELLAS, PICKS CUSHDRAIN PAD FOR EXTRA SAFETY

Canadian, TX (March 13, 2018) – Another happy customer returns to Hellas Construction for another football field after experiencing Hellas quality and long-lasting sports surfacing first hand. This time the Canadian Independent School District upgraded to the Matrix® Turf with Helix Technology and added the Cushdrain® Pad for added safety.

“We have been super-pleased with the Hellas products over the last 11 years,” said Canadian ISD Superintendent Kyle Lynch. “Hellas earned the right to do our second field, their quality proved itself. While other schools were replacing their turf after only 8 years, we were able to get 11 seasons out of our turf. We’ve only had great experiences with Hellas.”

The district chose Hellas’ Matrix Turf with Helix Technology, well-known for its quality and resiliency. It’s the choice of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins.

Canadian ISD also decided to add Hellas’ innovative Cushdrain Pad to provide added safety for athletes and help protect them from concussions.

“Player safety is a great responsibility and we take it very seriously,” Lynch said. “We appreciate that Hellas has developed the technology to keep our kids safe. The Cushdrain Pad doesn’t have to be replaced but about every 25 years, so the cost of having the pad is minimal when you consider the protection that it is providing to our kids. It’s well worth the extra cost.”

The Cushdrain Pad is a monolithic, paved into place, elastic layer that increases the shock absorption of the turf system, resulting in a lower GMAX, safer playing surface, and reduced concussions. It also allows for rapid drainage and provides planarity that will hold its position through three to four lifecycles of turf.

“Hellas has always gone the extra mile,” Lynch said. “From our first time using them back in 2007, they went above and beyond to ensure the field and track they installed was just what we needed. I was impressed that the Hellas President (Reed J. Seaton) drove all the way out to Canadian Texas just to make sure a project was going well. That really says something about the company.
